Krysta + Taylor’s Autumn Hudson Valley Wedding at Senate Garage in Kingston, NY

Hi there! Caitlinn here, wedding photographer based in the Hudson Valley since 2011. I am beyond thrilled to be sharing Krysta + Taylor’s wedding at Senate Garage with you all. On this day I created wedding photographs that I am so beyond proud of and it helped me come alive. Their absolutely gorgeous mid-October wedding day was something out of a dream and I am forever thankful that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. They are one of my favorite couples of all time and it was nothing short of a pleasure getting to work with them both. Krysta is FUN and wild, and Taylor is her rock. Together they are so wonderfully balanced as a couple and individuals.

Their wedding day was full of love, their decor consisted of all white florals, greenery, and black details. It was timeless and elegant and allowed details of Senate Garage speak for themselves.

How you met

“I moved back home from college and reconnected with a childhood friend. Taylor, my husband, had also been friends with her since high school. When I came back, I started hanging out with her friend group, which Taylor was a part of. It's funny how Taylor and I have so many childhood connections, and our lives came together at just the perfect time.”

How you got engaged

“I came home late on Sunday evening after an appointment, and when I walked into the kitchen, Taylor was dressed up nicely (looking back, I should’ve known something was about to happen). He asked me to join him in the living room, and before I knew it, he was on one knee.”

How you decided to get married at Senate Garage?

“We chose Senate Garage because when we visited the venue, we both immediately felt it was the perfect place to start the rest of our lives. I remember walking outside and getting emotional, knowing deep down that this was the place where we were meant to get married.”

What helped you choose your wedding vendors?

“When Taylor and I chose our vendors, it was all about personal connection and experience. We knew they would play a crucial role in making sure our wedding day went smoothly, so we wanted to feel a genuine connection with each one. Every vendor we worked with made us feel special, important, and truly heard. We honestly believe we had the best vendors anyone could ask for.”

Main Course absolutely NAILED their cocktail hour foot and signature drink experience.

What was your inspiration behind your black and white themed wedding decor?

“Taylor and I envisioned a timeless and romantic atmosphere for our wedding. We felt that the decor should be simple yet elegant, allowing the natural beauty of Senate Garage to shine. We didn’t want anything to overwhelm the space.”

We had so much fun sneaking around the building before their grand entrance into their wedding reception. I pretended I was paparazzi who happened to encounter a famous couple walking down the street after an awards ceremony.

They had an absolute rager of a party, led by their DJ, Dave, of A Perfect Blend Entertainment.

More champagne towers please. Always and forever.

What were your favorite memories from your wedding day?

“This question was tough because we truly had the best day of our lives. But if we had to choose a favorite moment, we’d both pick seeing each other for the first time. While we both felt calm and ready as we were getting ready separately, the moment our eyes met, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Another favorite part was just being on the dance floor, surrounded by all the people who love, support, and care for us. It was a moment of pure joy, knowing we were celebrating with the people who mean the most to us.”

I am so proud of the black and white portrait of these two. Between how AMAZING they looked, the lighting, weather, and venue…everything just CLICKED.

I’m not always a fan of wedding parties on the larger size, but I was obsessed with this group of kind and fun loving human beings.

Their vows left not a dry eye among their guests.

The overall black and white theme of their wedding was so timeless and elegant.

They had one of the most fun and wild wedding receptions, and we spent most of the night laughing at how amazing Krysta + Taylor’s dancing was, along with their guests. They were there to have a good time, and a good time was had.
