Marlowe + Scott’s Autumn Hudson Valley Engagement Shoot at Little Stony Point
Hi loves, Caitlinn here, Hudson Valley based fine art wedding photographer. Let me introduce you to these two beauties…Marlowe and Scott. These city dwellers wanted some epic nature for their engagement shoot in the Hudson Valley, and I presented them with the idea of doing it at one of my favorite childhood spots, Little Stony Point. Little Stony Point has always been referred to us old school locals as “Sandy Beach”, a driftwood filled beach on the shores of the Hudson River, featuring short trails to cliffs with gorgeous views of the river and Storm King mountain.
I absolutely adored these two and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY. They are just so beautiful, charming, and FUN…we were cracking up the entire shoot. I was obsessed with their engagement shoot outfits, and their willingness to try all my photo ideas, regardless how unorthodox they may sound at first.
Did I mention they are both actors? CHECK THEM OUT! MARLOWE + SCOTT

I will forever be obsessed with this view of the Hudson River. The cliffs of Little Stony Point give the perfect vantage point to view the Hudson Valley. If you get your timing right, you can capture the sun before it begins to set behind Storm King.
I was absolutely obsessed with the way Scott’s suit matched the fall foliage of the valley. Marlowe handled walking along the cliffside like a total champion in her chunky heels.

I was fixated on capturing movement with the colors of the foliage in the woods. I wanted to create an almost tie-dye effect with the bold colors of the autumn leaves. After slowing my shutter speed and flicking my wrist so the camera moved in a circular motion, I was thrilled with the results.

After we were done capturing the foliage in the woods, we headed down to the beach. By this time the sun had gone behind Storm King, creating even soft warm light that was perfect for the intimacy of the beach location. I wanted to continue to experiment with capturing their movement, they simply radiated joy.

Marlowe and Scott decided that they didn’t care about the cool water temperatures and were ready to get wet for the shot. I was BEYOND excited and thrilled…I never want to pressure someone to do something uncomfortable, so when people are down for the cause…I will always be ecstatic.

Their love captured in black and white is timeless and beautiful, stripping away the colors of the October sky and foliage.
