Spring Wedding at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY
There’s something especially beautiful about spring weddings at The Roundhouse in Beacon. The trees and landscape surrounding Fishkill Creek begin to come back to life, the waterfall is rushing, and the mix of exposed brick, industrial architecture, and fresh greenery creates such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding day.
This celebration was filled with everything I love about photographing weddings at The Roundhouse - beautiful spring light, colorful florals, emotional moments, and plenty of time to wander around Beacon for portraits. One of my favorite things about this venue is how much variety we can create without ever traveling far. The Roundhouse itself offers the waterfall, creek, brick architecture, and modern interiors, while the surrounding streets of Beacon give us an entirely different feeling just a few steps away.
As someone who grew up just a couple of blocks from Beacon Falls, photographing weddings here always feels a little personal to me. I’ve watched this part of Beacon change enormously over the years, but the waterfall and creek have always been part of the landscape I know as home. Being able to return now and document wedding days here is something I never take for granted.
Why I Love Spring Weddings at The Roundhouse
Spring is such a beautiful season for a wedding at The Roundhouse because you get the best of both worlds - the industrial character the venue is known for and the softness of the Hudson Valley landscape coming back to life around it.
From a photography perspective, there are so many options within a very small area. We can create portraits along Fishkill Creek and Beacon Falls, use the brick and architecture surrounding The Roundhouse for something a little more editorial, or walk into the surrounding Beacon streets for photographs that feel completely different.
It also means couples don’t need to build a complicated wedding-day timeline around traveling between multiple portrait locations. There’s enough variety right around the venue to let us follow the light, take a walk when it feels right, and create beautiful portraits without pulling you away from your wedding for hours.
Planning a Wedding at The Roundhouse?
After photographing so many celebrations here throughout different seasons, I’ve put together a complete Roundhouse Wedding Guide with information about the venue, ceremony and reception spaces, portrait locations, rain plans, and some of my favorite photography considerations for getting married here.
