Where we photograph your engagement session should feel like an extension of the two of you - not simply somewhere that looks beautiful in photographs.
I regularly photograph engagement sessions throughout Beacon, Cold Spring, the Catskills, along the Hudson River, throughout New York State Parks, and at private properties and places that hold personal meaning to my couples.
When choosing a location, I consider the season, natural light, accessibility, privacy, landscape, and -most importantly- the kind of experience you want to have together.
Maybe that means wandering through a field at sunset, climbing somewhere with a view, getting into the river, dressing up and having a drink somewhere beautiful, or simply spending an evening in a place that already feels like yours.
I’ll help you find a setting that complements who you are rather than asking you to fit yourselves into a location simply because it photographs well.

For couples who haven’t worked with me before, an engagement session is also a chance for us to get comfortable with one another before your wedding day.
You’ll become familiar with my gentle direction, the pacing of portrait time, and the way I observe and guide without over-posing. More importantly, you’ll have the experience of being photographed together and realizing that you don’t actually need to know what to do.
By the time your wedding arrives, the camera already feels a little less unfamiliar.
The experience is calm, collaborative, and rooted in trust.
Engagement Photography Investment
Engagement sessions added to a wedding collection begin at $1,000.
Standalone Hudson Valley engagement sessions begin at $1,400.
NYC engagement sessions begin at $2,000.
Destination engagement sessions and locations outside the Hudson Valley are also available. Travel fees may apply.
Engagement Photos That Feel Like You
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose, what to do with your hands, or how to look natural in front of a camera.
That’s my job.
I’ll offer direction when you need it and leave space when you don’t - giving you enough guidance to feel comfortable without turning the session into a series of poses to perform.
Some photographs will be quiet and observational. Others may feel more editorial and intentional. There will be movement, stillness, beautiful light, unexpected moments, and probably a little imperfection.
The goal is a collection of photographs that feels elevated without feeling like someone else’s version of you.
