Who I am.
I’m Caitlinn Mahar-Daniels, a Hudson Valley wedding photographer documenting weddings, elopements, proposals, and engagements with a blend of documentary storytelling and refined portraiture. My work is grounded in connection, calm energy, and an intuitive eye for light - creating images that feel timeless, emotional, and true.

Research
Make sure you love the photographs themselves - not just what is in them. The dress, flowers, venue, and beautiful details will all change from wedding to wedding. Look for a photographer whose way of seeing consistently resonates with you.
Connection
You should feel comfortable with your photographer. You should be able to talk, laugh, ask questions, and be yourself. If the connection doesn't feel natural, they may not be the right photographer for you.
Budget
There is a perfect photographer for every wedding and every budget. Find the balance between what you can invest and the kind of experience and photographs you want.

Nine hours gives us room to photograph the anticipation of getting ready, the people who matter most, the ceremony, portraits, dinner, dancing, and all of the wonderfully unplanned moments in between.

A relaxed 1–2 hour engagement session photographed with both digital and film, thoughtfully planned around a location that feels like you.

A large, beautifully designed album featuring the photographs you select. I design the layout, send you a digital proof for approval, and create a finished album designed to be enjoyed for generations.

This is the collection I recommend most often for couples who want both the experience of an engagement session and something tangible to hold onto after the wedding.

The Majestic is designed for larger celebrations, more complicated timelines, multiple locations, or couples who want the photography coverage to begin early and continue through the final moments of the celebration.

2 Hours of Coverage
Designed for intimate elopements and celebrations with fewer than 10 guests.
Perfect for a ceremony, portraits, and a little time to explore together afterward.

4 Hours of Coverage
Designed for elopements and intimate weddings with up to approximately 20-40 guests.
Four hours gives us room for more of the story - getting ready, a ceremony, family and couple portraits, and time to celebrate without rushing.

I design the layout and send you a digital proof for approval before the album is produced.

A smaller album designed especially for parents, featuring photographs of their choosing.
If your wedding collection already includes an album, a parent album can also be created as a smaller version of that album at a 20% discounted rate.

Twenty photographs printed and mounted on archival matboard and presented in a custom wooden box.
The prints are rigid enough to display without framing, or they can be framed individually. With proper care, they are designed to last well beyond a lifetime.

3 hours of rehearsal dinner and/or welcome party coverage, documented by two photographers.

Things You Should Know
Style
I consider myself a curated documentary photographer. I like to take you on an adventure and as you are exploring the earth and each other, I document the moments in between. I know when to let things unfold, and when to step in and direct.
Booking
After we meet over Zoom, together we sign a contract and a retainer of 1/3 of your total package price is due to reserve your date. This is all done electronically. I typically book 12-20 months in advance.
My Role
I arrive when scheduled, help the day flow, capture candid moments, organize and pose family & wedding party photographs, and document the day as it unfolds. Feel confident and comfortable knowing that I am here for you.
Timeline
Every package is different, but about 2-3 months before your wedding, I will send out an online questionnaire requesting information about locations, times, the posed family + wedding party photographs you desire, and other various details to help organize the photography timeline.
Details
Logistics matter. It’s ideal when getting ready, the ceremony, and the party are all in the same vicinity. Keep in mind the size of your wedding party and the natural lighting in your getting ready location, as space and light are so important to beautifully capture these early moments.
Image + Print Delivery
I typically send a sneak peek of 50+ images within 24-72 hours of your wedding day, and then provide your full online gallery within 8-12 weeks. If you have prints and/or an album included in your package, you then make your photo choices for your tangibles.
Travel
I am based in Poughkeepsie, NY but travel worldwide.
Insurance
Don’t worry. My business is fully insured and I have the liability insurance required by most venues.
