I’m Caitlinn Mahar-Daniels, a Hudson Valley wedding photographer documenting weddings, elopements, proposals, and engagements with a blend of documentary storytelling and refined portraiture. My work is grounded in connection, calm energy, and an intuitive eye for light - creating images that feel timeless, emotional, and true.

Choosing your photographer.
On your wedding day, while I am capturing everything in the present moment, I will also be thinking about your future. Wedding photographs are forever and I am documenting your legacy for your grandchildren, great grandchildren, and anyone who comes next in your family tree to look back upon in the future. Your choice of photographer is so important in the grand scheme of things, and an investment in your visual legacy.
Here are some tips in choosing the best photographer for you :
Research
Make sure you love the pictures themselves, not just what’s in them (like the dress, florals, or background).
Connection
You should feel comfortable speaking with your photographer, and things should feel natural. If you don’t feel a connection with a photographer, they may not be the right choice for you.
Budget
There is a perfect photographer for every wedding. Find the right balance between your budget and your vision.
Trust Your Gut
I say this time and time again : your photographer will be with you more than any other professional on your wedding day. Your intuition will guide you in the right direction.

These prints are mounted on matboard to ensure their longevity and strength. If taken care of properly, they will last well beyond a lifetime. They come in a custom wooden box for safe shipping and storage. These prints can be framed or simply displayed as they are rigid and do not bend.

Album perfect for parents, designed by me, with a digital proof sent for approval, created with photos of their choosing.
This album can be a smaller version of an album included in your package (if applicable) or added on for a 20% discounted rate.

Things You Should Know
Style
I consider myself a curated documentary photographer. I like to take you on an adventure and as you are exploring the earth and each other, I document the moments in between. I know when to let things unfold, and when to step in and direct.
Booking
After we meet over Zoom, together we sign a contract and a retainer of 1/3 of your total package price is due to reserve your date. This is all done electronically. I typically book 12-20 months in advance.
My Role
I arrive when scheduled, help the day flow, capture candid moments, organize and pose family & wedding party photographs, and document the day as it unfolds. Feel confident and comfortable knowing that I am here for you.
Timeline
Every package is different, but about 2-3 months before your wedding, I will send out an online questionnaire requesting information about locations, times, the posed family + wedding party photographs you desire, and other various details to help organize the photography timeline.
Details
Logistics matter. It’s ideal when getting ready, the ceremony, and the party are all in the same vicinity. Keep in mind the size of your wedding party and the natural lighting in your getting ready location, as space and light are so important to beautifully capture these early moments.
Image + Print Delivery
I typically send a sneak peek of 50+ images within 48 hours of your wedding day, and then provide your full online gallery within 8-12 weeks. If you have prints and/or an album included in your package, you then make your photo choices for your tangibles.
Travel
I am based in Poughkeepsie, NY but travel worldwide.
Insurance
Don’t worry. My business is fully insured and I have the liability insurance required by most venues.
